The Council has delegated authority to the following Council committees:
The Audit and Risk Committee is responsible for monitoring the ongoing effectiveness of financial reporting, internal controls, statutory and regulatory compliance and risk management activities.
The Committee monitors trends in the University鈥檚 risk profile and considers how it manages or mitigates key risk exposures. It implements risk management through its business processes of planning, budgeting, investment and project analysis and operations management.

The Capital and Investment Committee has planning and performance oversight of the University鈥檚 major capital investments and financial planning, including making recommendations to Council.

The Executive Committee acts for Council on matters that require immediate attention between Council meetings.聽 It reports major decisions to the next meeting of Council.

The Honours and Appointments Committee is responsible for making recommendations to Council on the award of聽Honorary Doctorates and other Honours, and on internal and external appointments to Council.

The purpose of the People Committee is to to assist the Council in fulfilling its oversight responsibilities, its role as employer of the Vice-Chancellor and to support the Vice-Chancellor to manage the University鈥檚 people issues effectively and appropriately.
