Why did you choose to study at the ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½ΝΕΆΣ (UC)?

β€œI chose UC largely because of my senior supervisor, Professor Martin Holland. I first met him while studying for my Master's degree at Chulalongkorn University in Thailand, where he taught several of my courses. I really enjoyed his teaching style and knew I wanted to continue working with him. When Professor Holland confirmed he would be happy to supervise my PhD, I applied to UC without hesitation.”

How has your experience at UC been so far?

β€œMy connection to UC began through my supervisor, but once I started my PhD, I discovered more about the university, particularly the National Centre for Research on Europe (NCRE). It’s been a wonderful environment for my research.”

What do you like most about UC?

β€œOne of the things I value most about UC is the incredible relationship I’ve built with my supervisor over the past three years. Beyond that, I’ve received great support from various departments, including Student Care and other communities that prioritize student mental health and well-being.”

What makes the education at UC unique?

How do you find the academic staff at UC?

β€œWhile I don’t know too many staff members at UC, those I’ve met have been incredibly friendly and helpful. My supervisor, in particular, has been consistently supportive, approachable, and patient, making a huge difference in my academic journey.”

What do you enjoy most about your studies at UC?

β€œOne of the things I appreciate most is the shared office space for postgraduate students, which is wonderfully diverse and respectful of different voices. It’s fascinating to hear so many perspectives on the same discussions, and this multicultural atmosphere has been a highlight of my studies.”

How was your transition to UC?

β€œHaving met my supervisor while studying for my Master's in Thailand, I was already familiar with his teaching and supervision style. This made my transition to UC quite smooth, and I was able to adapt quickly.”
