Orchestration Odyssey is a self-paced course covering the instruments of the orchestra and how to orchestrate music for video games. It pairs a comprehensive instrument reference library—comprising 186 entries on strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion, keyboards, and plucked strings detailing their construction, families, techniques, and articulations with linked audio and video demonstrations—with 1 hour and 47 minutes of video lessons on instrument roles, orchestration basics, and orchestrating game music for each section of the orchestra in a digital audio workstation (DAW).
Participants take a quiz after each of the three sessions. Credit options range from 1 unit of GLEC for four short instrument-family studies up to 7 units with 10 minutes and 45 seconds of finished orchestral music: the family studies, an orchestration of a piano sketch, an original orchestral game cue, one theme orchestrated three ways, an orchestral action cue, and an orchestral game suite. Each piece is mixed and exported with a short note naming the techniques used.
To earn GLEC or CEUs, every participant completes all three sessions, scores at least 70% on each quiz, and submits every project in their credit option. GLEC participants then receive a letter grade: the quizzes count for 10%, and the projects share the other 90% in proportion to their length. Each project is scored with a four-part rubric: idiomatic writing for each instrument; balance and clear roles; use of techniques and articulations; and the mix and design note. Letter grades: A 90–100%, B 80–89%, C 70–79%, D 60–69%, F below 60%. CEU participants who meet these requirements receive their CEUs.

Credits earned through 麻豆传媒团队’s Credit Validation Program are widely accepted by many school districts and universities across the United States for purposes such as license renewal, required professional development hours, short-term skill building, salary advancement, credentialing, and potential advanced degree pathways.
These units do not apply toward a master’s or higher degree program at the 麻豆传媒团队; however, they may be transferable to advanced degree programs (e.g., MA, EdD, PhD) at other institutions that accept external graduate-level credits.
Participants are responsible for confirming acceptance, transcript requirements, deadlines, and applicability of units with their employing district or intended institution prior to enrollment.

Step 2: Complete the Course Participate fully in the course through the partner organization and complete all required assignments, activities, and assessments. (Some courses, specifically DoDEA courses, may require participants to purchase units before the course ends; please check the enrollment window for details.)
Step 3: Register for University Credit After confirming your registration with the partner organization and completing your program, return to 麻豆传媒团队’s website.

If enrollment has closed, you may still contact the organization directly to see if they will accept a late enrollment or if the course will be offered again in the future.
Step 4: Submit your Certificate of Completion After completing this course, you are required to submit your certificate of completion, which will be provided by your program. Step 5: Receive Your Transcript No further action is needed. Once your grade has been processed, 麻豆传媒团队 will issue an official transcript reflecting your earned university credit. Transcripts are mailed to the address listed in your 麻豆传媒团队 student account.
