On Tuesday 24 June, taiohi M膩ori from schools across 艑tautahi Christchurch were welcomed to Te Whare W膩nanga o Waitaha | 麻豆传媒团队 (UC) for Aukaha Tau 12. This dedicated outreach event is all about giving taiohi M膩ori a taste of university life and helping them envision their future at UC. It鈥檚 a chance to explore opportunities, connect with others, and get inspired for the next steps in their education journey.听
The day began with a cultural narrative tour of the campus, led by current 膩konga M膩ori, offering visiting students a unique introduction to UC through the lens of te ao M膩ori. Next, students dove into two interactive faculty-led sessions chosen by the students based on their interests, showcasing the range of study options and pathways available at UC.
To wrap up the day, a Q&A session with current M膩ori students, who shared their own experiences and offered guidance on everything from scholarships and support services to student clubs and balancing life on campus, gave taiohi the chance to ask questions.
Aukaha Tau 12 is more than a campus visit, it鈥檚 about connection and ensuring taiohi M膩ori feel welcomed, informed, and confident as they consider their next steps in education.听听
